Hotel history

Pre-war roots

The history of the Hotel and Restaurant "Dworek 1885" dates back, as you can deduce from the name, to the nineteenth century. The manor house was built in 1885, serving residential purposes and was owned by Teodor Raczynski, and then was purchased by Edward Hulewicz, who was known for his extensive charity work in Ostrzeszów and its surroundings.

In 1919 the manor house passed into the hands of Sylwester Hęćka, a teacher and the first post-war school inspector. A few years after the end of World War II, the manor house was taken over by the management of the State Farms (PGR). PGR placed offices and employee flats in the building. In the following years, the building was allocated for communal flats.

The political change came and in 1997 the manor house was purchased from the Hęćka family by a group of people who established a commercial law company. The building was renovated and extended to house a restaurant and hotel.

Since then, the Hotel and Restaurant "Dworek 1885" has been developing rapidly, invariably offering its guests comfortable accommodation, delicious meals and additional attractions and amenities. Thanks to the rich offer of accommodation, as well as numerous celebrations, such as wedding receptions, communion or corporate integration events, the address Kaliska 7/9 is known not only in Ostrzeszów.
